Family Fun Day & Hog Roast 2015
On Sunday 16th August DDCS returned to The Orangery in Wimborne for our fifth Fun Day and once again we were lucky with the weather. The sun was shining with no rain clouds to be seen. 187 members came along to enjoy what was to be our best Fun Day yet!
As always, the grounds of the Orangery were beautiful and included plenty for the children and adults to enjoy such as Badminton, Beach Volley Ball, Basketball, Mini Golf, Croquet, Petanque, Table Tennis, Giant Chess, Football Table, Climbing Net and a giant Connect Four. There was live music from our Trustee Sarah Bolter playing the saxophone and Andy Walker was around to teach the children some circus tricks and provided the entertainment in the afternoon. The inflatable side was once again a great hit with the children but also this year there was the Unclimbable Ladder and Gladiator Jousting. For the younger children DDCS also hired a selection of toys including soft play, parachute, rockers, play tunnels and many more. And Joanna and Leylah provided some great face painting!
This year saw the return of a Hog Roast and BBQ which was provided by Roast around the Coast who worked hard to give a great service and the food was excellent. This was followed up with a visit from the Ice Cream van.
DDCS was also able to say thank you to David Maidment and family members Shelley, Chris and Kevin for the money they had raised for Dorset DCS by taking part in a sky dive that morning.

The Orangery creates a very secure environment for the children as the grounds are surrounded by a twelve foot wall with only one entrance. So parents were able to sit, relax and chat to other families while the children played.

What a glorious day with great weather and families having fun!
