Family Fun Day 2013
For the third year in a row we returned to The Orangery at Merley for our main summer family event on Sunday 18th August.

This year we asked our families to bring a picnic for lunchtime and as i looked out at the rain on the day before our event i wondered about the wisdom of that idea, but for the third year in a row, on the day itself, the sun shone and our families were able to enjoy their lunch in the wonderful private gardens sat on the warm dry grass.
We had the face painting, the toddlers toys, the giant jenga, the connect four, the table tennis, the volleyball as in previous years and a couple of new additions- to tire a few youngsters out the giant inflatable slide and to keep them occupied all day, a childrens entertainer.
We had one hundred and seventeen people attend and as well as plenty of play for the children (and some adults) there was the chance for families to sit, chill out in the sunshine and chat with others in a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.

As if that wasn't enough we had the NDCS Listening Bus in the car park and they were busy all day providing information and fielding enquiries from parents and children interested in the latest technology on offer.
